An eternal dance

Author’s note: So here we are again! More words, slugs forced to take on the beautiful wings of a butterfly. This one makes a bit more sense than the last. This the simple representation of the clashing of our inner animal-ism, humanism, and pitiful perspective of our perfect presence.

Two foes

Pulling, in perfect harmony
Pushing life to normalcy

Holding frailty in it’s gentle hands
With swift slashes
and wicked lashes

The soft ones scream in peace
Beg for reconciliation
Blind to perfect amity

Sinister silence
Sweet serendipity

Perilous plague
Precious peace

Vindictive violence
Vivid violet

Ferocious fear
Fading fire

Beast and man, fate entwined

The kiss of each we have defied

  1. Alliteration is literally my favorite, so this poem just made me really excited. I just love each stanza, and the powerful word choice used really captured the essence of your theme - animalism vs. humanism. Keep writing poems like this; they're wonderful.
